Restaurant Pinocchio
A fine French bistro on Magog's main street; not worth a special trip, but a good special like mussels night makes for an easy dinner.

My Take
Pinocchio is fine. I wouldn’t give it a bad review, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for it either—not when there are so many better options nearby. The menu doesn’t grab me, and by our local standards, the food is just okay. The one reason I’d go back is if they were running a special that sounded good—mussels night comes to mind—because that can turn it into an easy, pleasant dinner in town.
Public Knowledge
Magog's regional tourism office describes Pinocchio as a local institution serving French bistro-inspired dishes in a chic but friendly room, with a terrace on Rue Principale (Tourisme Memphrémagog). A menu posted on its website features bistro staples such as oysters, beef and salmon tartare, foie gras au torchon, and marrow bone with snails, though that page may not reflect the current menu (Restaurant Pinocchio); the restaurant's own Tripadvisor description singles out desserts like crème brûlée and chocolate mi-cuit (Tripadvisor). Recent Tripadvisor reviewers mostly praise the atmosphere and service, though at least one recent reviewer found the food disappointing for the price (Tripadvisor). La Tribune has mentioned it mainly as the restaurant run by Alexandra Verret, co-owner of Alessa Trattoria (La Tribune).
