L’Atelier du Pain

A Magog bakery and gourmet shop where you stop for bread and leave with dinner, too.

My Take

This is one of our favorite places in Magog because it does so many things well. You can get pastries and bread, but also sandwiches, and there’s a surprisingly big gourmet shop—meats, cheeses, chocolates, wine, all sorts of specialty items. Even if the pastry selection isn’t the biggest, the overall usefulness is huge. It’s the kind of place where you stop for bread and end up leaving with dinner, too.

Public Knowledge

L’Atelier du Pain occupies a converted former garage on Rue Sherbrooke, which its founders described in 2019 as an independent artisanal bakery offering breads, pastries, coffee and sandwiches made with regional products (Le Reflet du Lac). The regional tourism office lists it for viennoiseries, sandwiches, takeout, delivery and an outdoor terrace (Tourisme Memphrémagog). In January 2026 the business broke ground on an adjacent building to expand production, and its contractor’s announcement notes a second Magog outlet, Le Comptoir de L’Atelier, downtown; this review covers the 1230 Rue Sherbrooke flagship (Protech Construction).
